WALKING ON WATER - HOW ABOUT WALKING UNDER WATER?

Google goes underwater with Catlin Seaview Survey

Walking on water – how about walking under water?

It is great to see the world’s biggest communications platform getting excited about ocean change. Google have been posting a range of material to Street View and Google Maps following a collaboration with our client the Catlin Seaview Survey. Now you can dive with the Catlin Seaview Survey team, virtually exploring underwater locations in the Coral triangle.

From a green comms point of view, this is great news. The more people know about our oceans, the better. Having access to interactive, stunning images from the world’s coral reefs and dive sites opens up what is effectively a hidden world. And that, in part, addresses one of the difficulties faced by ocean scientists and ocean change communications: if it is out of sight, it is out of mind.

We are excited to see how the world of Virtual Reality continues to promote the need for change to help save our oceans!
